Dear Friends,
This has been a difficult month in many ways and things seem uncertain as we look forward to next year. The financial situation in CCX is still serious. We have had to reduce salaries again this month and our Exec Council meetings were cancelled due to lack of funds. Also Marina (staffworker, St Petersburg) will finish working with CCX at the end of this month. We will miss her.
There have also been encouragements. I am grateful to everyone who has given so generously to my support and to the support of CCX nationally and for the concern you have shown. Thank you.
PetrozavodskPetrozavodsk is a small town eight hours north from St Petersburg. I spent a day there last week. The last time I visited Petrozavodsk was two year's ago when CCX St Petersburg was exploring options for beginning a student group there. It was exciting to meet CCX students this time and to see how the group has grown. Please pray for Aleosha as he leads the group and involves other students.
I took an English class at a music college and it turned out one of the students had been on CCX's summer camp last year. She was very enthusiastic about the camp and the friendships she made there. Please pray for CCX students as they continue to reach out to friends from the summer camp.
Regional ConferenceWe have decided to go ahead with planning a regional training conference at the end of January. We hope that the conference will provide students with a solid foundation of Bible study skills and encourage them to be faithful students and sharers of God's Word. This will be CCX West Russia's first ever regional conference! I have attached more detailed information about the conference to this email.
We still have to raise a lot of money. Would you consider sponsoring a student to attend the conference? A gift of £30 plus Gift Aid would cover the cost for one student. Please let me know if you are able to give. There is a delay of about a month before we find out about money we have received and it would be helpful to know in advance about gifts given or pledged.
We would also be grateful for your prayer support as we plan the programme and invite students. We are excited about the conference! Our prayer is that CCX students will grow in their understanding of the Bible and will learn how to apply Scripture to every area of their lives.
ChristmasThere are just a couple of days left until I travel back to Britain for Christmas! I am excited about going home. Erika and Kraig (my sister and brother-in-law) and my nieces and nephew arrive home on the 26th. It will be the first time we've all been home around Christmas in more than ten years! I will be in Britain until the 8th January.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to hearing from you in the New Year!
Love, Tasha
